The BALF supernatant was aliquoted, and frozen at -80°C for virus titration. For gene expression analysis, pieces of cranial lung lobe tissues were submerged into RNAlater™ Stabilization Solution (Thermo Fisher Scientific), placed at room temperature for 6 h and then stored at -80°C until use.
