About this deal

We found it refreshing that the staff weren't wearing masks or visors etc - a pleasant break from reality. The Summer Time Act was passed, ordaining that for a certain period during the year legal time should be one hour in advance of GMT. We visit regularly and sit outside at the front, here you can see the Peacocks/pheasants and other wildlife that are encouraged to roam freely. Tho out of nearly the same era, but in the rural Pacific Northwest of America, we were much less posed -- in fact my school pics usually looked like a hodge-podge of kids. In March 2019, the European Parliament backed a proposal to end the practice of changing the clocks in European Union states.

Not sure who thought it would be a good idea to put a childs meal on a piping hot plate but the waiter put it on a different one for us anyway when we asked. A stylish 24-hour analogue clock that will make a statement on any wall, with its bold monochrome face, and matte black metal casing. My wife had the cream of onion soup for starters which was nice but didn’t taste of onion more of the cream, she also had chicken and halloumi salad which lacked dressing but again was totally acceptable and flavor some. The current disposable menus don't state which meals are vegetarian though, they only state which are gluten free. We deliberately keep most of our historic clocks on GMT all year round as they were mainly used before the first daylight saving came into effect in 1916. The girl in the spotted dress in the 3rd row is smiling, and a couple of other children have the glimmer of a smile, including my father, but the great majority of the others are downright scowling and certainly look like they are not enjoying their school days at all.

The next photograph shows a tall 16 year old Ian standing out 'above the crowd' in the centre of the back row in this Lower 5th Form class at Rangiora High School in 1940. We always try to sit in Chico's (Conservatory) where the atmosphere is wonderful and the furnishings comfortable and tasteful, clearly a lot of thought and expense has been given to the design. Only those wishing to go on to university would have stayed on to complete this final education year. Mary modestly says that she was not very good at dancing, and only did it for a little while, until her father Frank Olds decided that there was too much travelling involved. She's not up to dancing these days but is still smiling and still managing to live on her own in the house that she and Bob moved into in 1959.A Sea of Drawings: the art of the Van de Veldes Why do artists draw, and what can their sketches teach us about their skills and techniques?

Visitors arriving at the Observatory in the summer are often confused by the apparent delay shown on the Shepherd Gate Clock but as Britain’s first public clock to show GMT, we’re proud to continue this tradition," she says.

These days Rangiora High is a big school and no doubt there is a substantial group of students in Form 6, or Year 13 as it is now known. Night workers are often advised to check their contracts and discuss the situation with their employer. Their senseless efforts have no effect as people like yourselves - the army of regulars - keep coming back time again to make Tocketts Mill the popular venue that it is. When his child's meal was brought out, the waiter said to be careful with his plate as it was piping hot. The decor is good and good to see that social distancing is being maintained during the Covid-19 era.

We visited yesterday early evening, ALL the Staff were attentive and polite throughout enabling us to sit outside for a few drinks even though our table was ready, but quite rightly pointed out the table was booked out later. There are 14 of his former classmates identified in the photograph, but only one other gentleman amongst them, also named Ian, standing 5th from left in the second row in 1932, and 5th from left in the back row in 1998, and he is one of the three who to my knowledge are still with us. Came down for Sunday dinner to surprise the girlfriend got sat and served in 20 minutes at most and main course was in front of us ready, after that we must have been seen to about 3 times from the mains being on the table to leaving the establishment. The waitress spoke rudely when asking for extra portions and had no manners when responding to simple asks. Such a shame as it would be a much better experience with better table service and I don’t think we can blame corona for that as there is sufficient staff just very poorly organised.

The Chips were again the best I've tasted in years, clearly double or treble cooked and a lovely dark brown. If you are a resident of another country or region, please select the appropriate version of Tripadvisor for your country or region in the drop-down menu. Curator of the Royal Observatory Louise Devoy explains what happens in Greenwich when the clocks change. It's not too difficult to discover whether a certain individual has died in NZ, because if they were aged 80 or over, their name and date of birth then instantly appears in the historical death index. In the Jubilee photograph above, the unlisted 74 year old Ian is wearing a blue shirt and cream jacket on the far right of the second row.
