I baked my nuts a little too long so my first attempt has a slight burnt taste that bothers the hubs more than it bothers me. Do you know of any basic, food processors that are not too expensive that work really well in grinding nuts into nut butter? Ate it while in Germany but it is outrageous here in the states so that is my next venture just need to find hazelnuts in bulk.

With nothing but 100% whole roasted nuts inside, the nut oil may separate on occasion but this does not affect the quality of the product. This occurrence is more prevalent in organic nut butters, as they do not contain added stabilisers or emulsifiers. I usually only roast the almonds, but I've made all kinds: straight up sunflower kernels, pistachio (SOOOOO GOOD! It took longer than expected to get a creamy texture, but I suspect it’s just because I kept stopping to scrape the bowl down.Blend for 1 minute, using the tamper to press ingredients toward the blades, or until desired consistency is reached. Happy to find this Since the food boxes often give generous quantities of walnuts, hazelnuts almonds as well as dates. I’ve always made homemade nut butters, such as classic almond butter or cashew butter, but I never thought about making nut butter blends with different combinations of nuts + seeds! The food processor I had did grind the nuts (hazelnuts, macadamia nuts) into something close to nut flour, but it never did became creamy.

The oil separation is a natural occurrence that happens due to the difference in density between the oil and the solid nut particles. I’ve bought jars of almond butter at Trader Joe’s for seven dollars, so there’s not much savings opportunity there.Overheated it for the first time in 30 years, and a Vita Mix does not make it easy to get the food down on/near the blade. The only problem: I preemptively added ~1 tbsp of hazelnut oil thinking they’d be difficult to blend without the aid of some oil…and now my butter is pretty loose in texture. If I soak the nuts in salt water over night and then dry them out in the oven, will the nuts still produce a creamy nut butter when ground? I bought the blendtec blender and the attachment piece specislly made to make nut butters and it doesn’t seem to blend that well.
