About this deal

There are five stations with compass points around them, these are tourist sites and score points depending how many times your route connects to them as indicated by the scoring track at the bottom of the sheet. After a while, I’ll admit that they all felt a bit same-y, and my enthusiasm for the genre diminished a bit. The Central Station is an omni-connector; it may be worth trying to get there to get the Interchange bonuses. Although it is easy to miss that you score the leftmost uncoloured number when scoring your tourist attractions. George (11): I think it’s a really fun game, I like the artwork because I can imagine the people in London.

That makes each game a tense and surprising experience and can really amp up the pressure for your next line!Well, it would’ve been very easy to overlook this game and I nearly did myself as it did appear very similar. In each corner, there is also a super small 1×1 region that is separate from the larger corner region. The objective cards and pencil power cards are small square cards and each shows a simple icon—you’ll need to refer to the rules the first few times you play, but then they’re fairly intuitive. The components are lovely – nice think double sided pad, sturdy, glossy cards, and a super magnetic catch box. Optimisation and efficiency is key to creating a streamlined yet effective network which traverses London to visit the sights and uses the tunnels that pass under the River Thames.

The remaining pencils (or pens) are placed in between all the players or in a row if you are playing solo. It’s the interesting challenge of how starting with purple is very different than starting with green or blue or pink, so the player boards in the game tend to be pretty different, as well! Count the number of stations that have two, three or four lines going into them and score two, five and nine points for each station respectively. The map is divided into thirteen districts, including cheeky single square districts in each corner. You subtract 10 points for each of the advanced modules (shared objectives and pencil powers) that you played with, and then compare your final score to the chart, which has tiers ranging from “<90 points” to “>150 points.

Connecting to stations with spiky outlines (Tourist Sites) will let you cross off the leftmost symbol on the bottom of your player board. You don’t necessarily want to always double back, but you may need those Stations for later rounds (and you may be able to get Interchange Bonuses by doing so). Your points are the number of districts you connect with your line times the most Stations connected by your line in any one district. In Next Station: London, everyone has their own copy of the same map of London, but only one of the four colored pencils available to a player each round.

You should try the following : check your connection, disable ad-blocker, clear your browser cache, try in private mode, try from another browser/computer/connection. Add in the Pencil Powers and the Shared Objectives, and you’ve got a game that’s a very different animal, every time you play. This phase comprises of several turns (between 5 and 10), depending on the Station cards that are flipped over. That’s enough of an endorsement for anyone looking for a new distraction while not completely forgetting about the desire to explore other areas of the board game world.Working alongside The London Sound Survey, we collected field recordings from 55 stations across the London Underground network over the course of three months, adding in sounds from our respective archives.
