About this deal

designs, with a long-excursion woofer and a 1-inch compression driver in a precision horn. This horn design of the TX3 Series improves The enclosure is made of hard plastic, and can be mounted on a standard speaker pole, or set on its side like a wedge for booth and stage monitoring. The facade looks like your average loudspeaker; a cavity above where the tweeter / horn is, and a metal grille covering the woofer for protection. The range starts off at €149 for the entry-level TX308 going through to €269 for the TX 315. In anyone’s book that represents superb value and without a doubt makes the range very accessible. Powered, portable PA loudspeakers are a workhorse product that we’ve all relied on at some point. If you need a portable PA system for DJ’ing or general sound reinforcement, you can’t argue with the convenience of powered PA speakers. Furthermore, they’re extremely convenient for use as on-stage monitors to supplement a larger, install PA rig. I’ve had a handful of bad experiences with PA speakers during my teen years as a “mobile” DJ (ie an excuse to pool cash with a few friends to buy gear and play parties to meet girls), but that was during the 90s when affordable active speakers were harder to find, so we had to resort to DIY-built, extremely heavy speaker cabinets and bass bins that required two people to carry them, leading to pulled muscles and almost-slipped discs. (I still have one such speaker as a keepsake from those “good ol’ days”…)

Consisting of a bi-amplified 2-way design, the mighty speaker features a long-excursion woofer and a 1-inch titanium compression driver. The result is an impressive projection that's overflowing with dynamic character. You should get an instant answer on whether your application has been successful, though in some rare cases Klarna or V12 may need to look at the application in more detail. The Alto Professional TX310 350 Watt Active Speaker brings clear sound to a variety of live music applications. It combines power and portability, offering the same huge output you'd expect from larger systems, all in a lightweight, easy to carry format. Whether used as a main speaker or stage monitor, you'll get deep, defined bass from a 10" low frequency driver, crisp, clean highs from a 1" compression driver, and wide, even coverage from a 90 H x 60 V directivity horn. Perfect for making your sound reach a wide audience with ease! As is usual for this type of speaker, the TX310 is a ported, bi‑amplified two‑way system, in this case pairing its long‑excursion woofer with a 1.5‑inch voice coil alongside a one‑inch titanium compression driver tweeter, crossing over at 2.5kHz. The tweeter is loaded by a full‑width horn, producing a horizontal dispersion of 90 degrees and a vertical dispersion of 60 degrees. Tapping on the case reveals some panel resonances, which is not uncommon with moulded speaker enclosures, and this is most likely a contributing factor to the lower‑midrange sound coloration I heard when playing full‑range material through the TX310. I got the impression that the speaker had been voiced to give a good account of the low end and to deliver a crisp treble, but at the expense of some midrange clarity. Some low‑mid cut centred around 200Hz cleaned this up to a useful degree, especially in a vocal PA setting, as it helped tame some of that unwanted boxiness. There’s also a useful amount of mic gain if you plug a mic directly into the XLR input, which is always good to know for those ‘broken mixer’ emergencies or for basic announcement work, though there’s no opportunity to add EQ or effects if you work that way. You’ll find that all the models in the TX3 series offer a 1″ titanium tweeter and importantly the same feature set. Indeed, it’s fair to say that these are a “no-frills” offering, with a basic feature set. You won’t find any smart DSP features here, and there’s only a single mic/line input. Bluetooth isn’t included either, although Alto also offers the Bluetooth Total 2 as an add-on. Loud and Proud? The TX310 features a bi-amplified 2-way designs, with a long-excursion woofer and a 1-inch titanium compression driver in a precision horn. The horn design of the TX3 Series improves high-frequency performance and produces a very precise 90˚H X 60˚V radiation pattern—ideal for optimal audience coverage. Utilising much of the technology of the acclaimed TS3 series, the new TX3 Series delivers the power and clarity you need to sound your best. Despite the popularity of mini line‑array systems for small venues, there’s still a healthy market for the more conventional box‑style speaker. That’s an area Alto have much experience in, having produced a number of affordable point‑source speakers over the years that perform surprisingly well for their price. Their new TX range is designed in the US but manufactured ‘offshore’, and we’re informed that it is underpinned by some of the technology used in the company’s more costly TS3 series. The TX range goes from an 8‑inch model, via 10‑ and 12‑inch designs, up to a 15‑inch version. I chose the 10‑inch TX310 for this review, as it is well‑suited to smaller venues, is adequately loud with a reasonably wide frequency response, and is easily portable. However, the Gear4music extended warranty scheme provides an enhanced service, and is designed to offer a higher level of protection than many 'free' warranties offered by some retailers and manufacturers.
